Winter makes installation environments using light. Previously, she has used artifical light sources; however, here she is using daylight. Her work has affinities with the work of New York minimalists and American land artists of the 1960s and 70s. James Turrell (in particular) is clearly a hero. More redolent however of '60s counter culture, the geodesic forms of Winters work in Inside Out are playful and democratic, and engage our imagination in an entirely different way.
