Deon Winter holds her solo exhibition within the famous London Crypt, from the 5^th July 2008. Winter, starts her non-stop exhibition programe at her exhibition 'de transcendental‘, the 12 day event where Winter will show her light installation ‘Stella uno’. Exhibiting within the Crypt with its winding corridors Winter's work will create a transient like atmosphere transporting the viewer through the complexities of light where she will explore the power of light within the atmosphere. Winters, 3D sculptural spaces interact with the viewer engaging them with the 2D collection, transcending beyond the normal realms of perception. Winter’s work is one of experience by exploring the complexities of light and how we perceive it both in a mental and physical sense. She encourages engagement from the participants who enter the work detaching them from the reality of the world in which we live.

An electrifying new exhibition with a difference, starting with an opening night on the 4 th Sept, which is complimented with a full evening of free entertainment, circus acts and performance artists, working with illumination taking place throughout the crypt. This is no PV night, this is an evening where everybody is welcome. Illumini will not just showcase art it will entertain, introducing all communities that may not normally visit the arts to a different approach.

Illumini brings together a variety of artists, all sharing a passion for the subject of light. Set in the famous St Pancras crypt, these impressive pieces of artwork come to life in this desolate and unsettling environment. Come along to experience the illuminatory and dazzling effect this diverse collection of artwork has on the crypt’s dark environment.

Travel down abandoned corridors and venture into secret recesses to explore a wide variety of artwork. The pieces range from photographs and paintings depicting light, to sculptural works that literally glow; at once transforming the crypt’s murky and shadowy atmosphere like never before.

Winter will join the Arts program at the famous Rousse Art Gallery, were she will explore the power of light within the atmosphere by creating works for the gallery space and outside. Winter will become a guest of the city of Rousse, Bulgaria while exhibiting at the gallery.
